Three injured in Sheboygan County rollover crash

The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls regarding a single vehicle rollover crash that occurred on Interstate 43 near Mueller Road shortly before 3 PM on Sunday April 3, 2022.

Preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle was operated by a 24 -year-old male from Manitowoc which had two passengers; a 39-year-old female and a 15-year-old male, both from Manitowoc.

The vehicle was initially travelling south on I-43 when it suddenly crossed over the median, rolled over and landed on the east shoulder of I-43 northbound. All three occupants required extrication. The driver was transported with life-threatening injuries via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. The passengers were transported via Orange Cross Ambulance with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The accident caused the closure of I-43 north for approximately three hours, and a cause has yet to be determined.

The accident remains under investigation.
